Simple Packing Hacks for Traveling | Fun Travel Guides

Whether you are a seasoned traveler or just starting out on your journeys, one thing unites us all: packing can be rough. From trying to decide what to take– do you really need your smartphone, iPad, laptop and Kindle?–to simply deciding many articles of clothing to pack and how to roll or fold it all, everyone can use a few new tips. Fun Travel Guides has a list of travel packing hacks that you can try out for your next trip.

  • Bringing toiletries that might leak? Super simple fix. Remove the cap, put a piece of cling wrap over the opening and then replace the cap. Using cling wrap as a barrier will prevent those obnoxious leaks.

  • Have you ever wondered what to do with empty prescription bottles? Well, if you’re traveling and find yourself short on space, you can use those empty containers to decant smaller amounts of your favorite toiletries.

  • Keep small accessories like jewelry from tangling and shifting around by packing it between a couple layers of Press ‘N’ Seal wrap. You can also string tangle-prone necklaces through a straw.

  • Lately it seems like many new pairs of shoes come with a shoe bag inside of their shoebox, but if you don’t happen to have any of those bags lying around, you can also use a shower cap to keep your shoes from dirtying the rest of your clothes.

  • Packing a hat? You can place a t-shirt inside of it to keep the hat from getting squashed and misshapen.

  • If you’re taking along any delicate dresses or blouses, you can carefully roll them between two sheets of white tissue paper to provide some extra protection.

  • You can use “packing cubes” to better organize the contents of your suitcase so that you can find specific items without needing to unpack–or creating a quickly disheveled situation.
